Putting the spotlight on responding (and why it matters)

In 2022 we did some research into the essential behaviours and skills that teams say leaders need when navigating change.
‘We need leaders to listen, hear and respond’ was rated the most important behaviour.
There is a lot of existing guidance around how to listen better. But what do leaders need to do once they have listened?
The way the leader responds to the information given is how team members determine whether or not they have been heard.
The Response will either align and supports the need, or leave a team member feeling misunderstood or ‘not heard’.
